Men's Volleyball's Wintermeyer Tabbed as EIVA All-Star

New York University senior middle blocker Jonathan Wintermeyer added to his list of personal accomplishments Tuesday when he was tabbed to the All-Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Second Team.

Players from teams in both the EIVA Tait and Hay Divisions are eligible for First and Second Team accolades.

A 6-6 product of Atascadero, CA, Wintermeyer became just the fourth NYU First Team All-American ever, and the first since Chris Schmidt in 2006, last week. The senior tri-captain has helped lead NYU to a 21-7 mark and a spot in the EIVA/NCAA East Regionals, as the #8-seeded Violets will travel to #5 Juniata College on Wednesday night.

Wintermeyer is averaging career bests in points (.446) and kills (3.48) per game. Wintermeyer is also hitting a personal- and team-best .418 while averaging 1.08 blocks per game.

Wintermeyer was named the AVCA Division III Player of the Week on March 17, and is a two-time EIVA Hay Division Player of the Week honoree (March 17, March 31).
